If you walk North down Kenmure Street and find the entry to the Ex Kingston Bowling Club signalled by Mrs Mac's Botanical Fireplace tiles set in the pavement- then a fitting invitation to enter might still be found.
Unexpectedly and amid Covid a rapid opening of the gates was forced on the space, forcing a requirement to separate out the Building site area from the occupiable Green space and in the course of a week a fitting boundary fence was put in place by Andy and Julia.
Sadly in September 2020 some of the careful work undertaken was undone in a blind rush to open ( in our cautious view ) - The Green .... rather too quickly. In particular a carefully considered Art work including Mrs Maclaren's of Nithsdale Roads gifted Material was brutally vandalised . The Decorative Panels made from her Doors and locks were destroyed in that act of vandalism causing great upset and a change in the fortunes of the project.
In September 2020 Glasgow's - Urban Roots took over the running of a volunteer Programme around further establishment of the green space and took on responsibility for the green infrastructure created.
Much of what was planted during 2020's Lockdown will show its head once again in 2021 Its a much better place than the one found in early 2020. .The work below was all undertaken in that period.
